2MP H.265 IP Camera Solution - Hisilicon Hi3516E
Promising to double video compression efficiency on existing H.264, H.265/HEVC is an inevitable trend for IP video surveillance industry, as the leading IP camera SoC developer and provider, Hisilicon has unveiled new SoC for its H.265 IPC product portfolio. The new model is Hi3516E, or Hi3516EV100, it's based on ARM926@800MHz ARM CPU has HD video processing capability maximum supports 20 frames per second with 1920x1080 resolution, it's the basic model dedicated to entry-level 2MP H.265 IP security cameras.
Comparing with existing H.265 SoCs such as Hi3516D and Hi3516A, the Hi3516E has integrated 64MB DDR, which means can allow manufacturers to produce competitive products with advantages of lower-cost and lower power consumption.
Chinese IPC module manufacturers now can provide this solution by incorporating with 2-megapixel CMOS image sensors. For example, Hi3516E + GC2383.

Hi3516E + GC2383 has a slightly better performance on Infrared sensitivity. The product can capture crystal clear image without obvious image noise.
Over exposure for short distance objects is one of setback for IP cameras using Infrared LEDs. Smart-IR is the technology to solve it. New Hi3516E + GC2383 solution has carefully tweaked the camera's smart IR, which allowing cameras to capture people's face without over-exposure, the face feature and details are clearly presented.

Hi3516E+S05 IP camera solution is also available in market today. This solution has improved image quality by enhancing edge resolution. It also has better image color reproduction.
In terms of outdoor performance, Hi3516E+S05 has greatly enhanced performance under Infrared illumination condition, especially for object's clarity and eliminated IR-exposure for people's face. Other improvements including brightness balance, which make the entire image looks perfect.
For GC2383 solution, it also provides excellent image when capturing people's face under IR illuminating condition, it mainly optimized details including nearby objects, face features and exposure.
Hi3516EV100 + S05 now integrates with white light. Under white light illuminating condition, the camera is able to capture high clarity image with color.
