100% Wire-free camera system

Arlo cameras are based on 2.4G wireless technology to communicate with base station. It adopts IP66 rated weatherproof design, which can work in a wide variety of weather conditions. It's suitable for both indoor and outdoor video surveillance applications. Additionally, Arlo security camera is powered by four Lithium-ion batteries. This can allow Arlo camera to work without using wired power cable connection. 100% wire-free, Arlo camera system offers the great flexibility to different video surveillance applications, you can use it as home security monitoring, baby monitoring, or pet monitoring, commercial security and more.

By the way, Arlo camera has built-in PIR motion sensor to detect human movement. You can adjust the motion sensitivity of an Arlo camera if a motion rule has been applied to it.

2.4GHz base station

The Arlo base station communicates with cameras through 2.4GHz frequency. The wireless range between camera and base station reaches up to 300 feet. The base station can connect to your router using an Ethernet cable. Once base station connects to Internet, user can remotely access the base station through free smartphone App (Android & iOS) from anywhere.

Smart motion detection

Arlo cameras are not meant to stream video 24/7. Arlo cameras spend most of their time in power-saving stand-by mode. When motion detection is enabled, the cameras start recording automatically as soon as they detect motion. Arlo can send an alert by email or push notification when motion is detected. Arlo cameras also turn on whenever you use the Arlo app to see what’s happening at the moment. Recorded video is stored in the Arlo cloud so you can see all the activity the cameras detect at any time.
