Common questions for PSTN alarm system

Common Questions For PSTN Alarm System
    • Can I plug the alarm system in to a normal phone line?
    • Yes. This alarm system uses a standard land line instead of a GSM mobile network.

    • What are the monthly costs?
    • None! You control the costs and only pay the normal cost of a call when the system dials.

    • Will the alarm system interfere with other wireless products such as my wireless network?
    • No. The system works on its own UK approved frequency and does not interfere with other wireless devices.

    • My neighbour has a wireless alarm will this alarm system cause a problem?
    • No. The system works on its own UK approved frequency and has a unique ID code programmed by us.

    • How secure is the wireless alarm, can it be cracked or hacked in to?
    • No. The system has its own unique 8 digit ID code programmed by us. Without knowing this code you can not access or tamper with the alarm system. It would take millions of attempts to establish what the ID code is!

    • How long do the sensor batteries last?
    • Depending on usage, you should expect to replace the batteries every 12 - 24 months.

    • How do I know when the batteries need replacing?
    • Nearly all our sensors have a 'low battery' LED indicator. The red LED will glow green to indicate the battery needs replacing.

    • Can I add more sensors in the future, if so how many?
    • Any type of sensor can be programmed by us and added to your system at any time. There is no limit to the amount of sensors you can use with our systems.

    • Does the alarm system need to be hard wired in the electrical mains?
    • No. The Control Panel is supplied with a UK power supply which simply plugs in to any standard household mains socket. European customers may have to purchase an adaptor to convert the UK plug to their local plug type.

  • What will happen if there is a power cut?
  • The Control Panel has an internal backup battery which will last for 36 hours.
