Hikvision DS-2DF7286 2 megapixel IP PTZ dome camera test

Hikvision DS-2DF7286 HD IP PTZ dome camera adopts 1/2.8" progressive scan CMOS image sensor, offering high definition resolution, supports triple streaming technology, it supports flexible H.264/MJPEG/MPEG4 video codec, support multiple video quality configuration, in H.264 codec mode, it can deliver 1080P, 960P, 720P and so on high definition surveillance video.

Aluminum metal design

This camera inherited the traditional style of Hikvision products, it adopts heavy-duty aluminum, accurately assembled with drop shape design. Observing its lens, this camera equipped with high efficiency array LEDs, which provide low power consumption, and long range IR illumination up to 150 meters. By the way, the IR illumination range and angle will match the zoom times, therefore to provide ideal night vision performance.

This camera has rich interface, it includes Ethernet connector (RJ45), BNC video output, Audio Input/Output, Alarm Input/Output and so son. Besides, it has built-in MicroSD/TF card slot, it can support local video storage, and alarm recording, also supports network interruption resume feature. As long as network connection is disrupted, camera will use the SD card to store data, when network connection is restored, it will automatically resume the data transmission.

True high definition performance

During the real test, connect this camera to network switch, then login into its web interface, setting its resolution to 1080P, bitrate 4Mbps, and fps 25. Under this parameter, we are going to test its resolution, color reproduction and network performance.

Image quality: Compare the images with resolution testing card, we can know its approximate horizontal resolution is 900 tv lines, and vertical resolution is 1050 tv lines, edge resolution 800 tv lines, with good grayscale clarity, compared with 24** color card, the color reproduction is good, except one of color is subdued, the overall performance is satisfied.

Network performance: Under 1080P parameter setting, running the bitrate monitoring software, this camera can stabilize its bitrate within range between 3.08 to 4.3Mbps, bitrate is very stable. Using the step-watch we can estimate its three delay time are 270ms, 280ms, 250ms.

Wide dynamic range: This model supports wide dynamic function, through its menu to turn on/off WDR. We position this camera target to high light lamp, there is doll inside lampshade, observing the changes of images when enable/disable WDR. When WDR is enabled, the surveillance images have significant improvements.

Advanced PTZ control function

This model's PTZ function is very powerful. From its datasheet, Hikvision DS-2DF7286 supports horizontally continuous rotation 360 degree, vertically rotating -10 degree to 90 degree, without monitoring blind spot. Furthermore, its preset horizontal rotation speed can reach 0.1° -220°/s, and preset vertical rotation speed is 0.1° -120°/s. This model totally supports 256 presets, each presets support video frozen function. Besides, support maximum 8 cruises scan, 4 pattern scan settings, user-intuitive zoom design, the rotation speed can automatically adjust to fit zoom times.

DS-2DF7286 supports 30x optical zoom, we put the camera target to outside miles away billboard, and zoom in the scene, we can clearly see the hotal name, it has excellent optical zoom function.

Support day/night surveillance

This camera supports day/night surveillance, with smart IR function to avoid IR-saturation, in real testing, we use the dark box to simulate the low illumination environment, continuously reducing the illumination, the camera will automatically switch to B/W night mode, when Lux decreased to 1.8Lux, and IR LED turns on. This model also supports 3 dimensional noise reduction function to enhance its night performance.
