Samsung security network PTZ camera test report - SNP-6320RH

In last Beijing CPSE (China Public Security Expo) period, we introduced and tested the Samsung SNB-7004 3 megapixel WDR network camera. After one year past, we are delighted to introduce its latest product SNP-6320RH, which is a high speed network PTZ dome camera.

Robust design, convenient installation

From its structure, Samsung SNP-6320RH 32x 2 megapixel high speed network camera can be disassembled into three parts: camera stand, camera body, PTZ+Lens. The camera housing is engineer plastic material (inner layer is aluminum material), under good manufacturing, the housing surface is smooth; camera stand and camera body both paint with white color, PTZ and dome camera parts adopt black design.

Herein, we specially introduce you two parts, the first part is round camera, in addition to the 2 megapixel Full HD block camera; there are two Infrared illuminators beside the zoom lens, maximum support 150 meter illuminating range. the second part is stand, which utilize quick fastening design. You can fast install the stand to camera body. Furthermore, the camera's interface is beneath the stand, it includes AC 24V power input, RJ-45 Ethernet port, Audio I/O, Alarm I/O etc. In the following test, we only connect the camera to power supply and network.

This camera's overall style inherited Samsung past design, simple but elegant, quick installation; while it's a big size camera, weight reaches up to 7.1Kg, robust and durable, especially offers good anti-wind capability in outdoor strong window environment, although in maximum optical capturing, image keeps stable, no shaking. IP66 / 1K10 protection grade and -50℃ ~ +55℃ wide temperature adaptation capability, improved the camera's outdoor adaptation capability. After connect the power to this PTZ dome camera, instantly the camera enters into self-checking status, PTZ starts to move, accordingly lens starts to zoom in/out, looks like a robot, pretty amazing.

2 megpapixel 32x optical zoom

This network camera utilizes a 1/2.8" 2.38 megapixel CMOS image sensor to delivers HD video with multiple resolution formats including 1920x1080, 1280x1024, 1280x960, 1280x720, 1024x768 etc. Meanwhile, it can deliver 60fps high-frame rade video stream in 1080p Full HD resolution. Login its web interface, enable the mirror function to rotate image 180°to fit normal view angle monitoring, then set video parameter to 1080P, 60fps, bitrate 4Mbps.

Crystal image with high clarity

The 2MP block camera is equipped with F=4.4-140.8mm zoom lens, make the camera aim at 4000 TVL resolution testing card in minimum zoom, now check the captured image, camera's focus is super-fast, in 16:9 video aspect, image has no distortion, its horizontal resolution can reach up to 950 TVL, vertical resolution is 1000TVL, edge resolution is 850TVL; meanwhile image detail is clear, no color spot on the edge of TVL, indirectly proved the quality of this camera.

In 24 colors color reproduction testing, compared the captured image with color testing card, besides the color is slight subdued, basically, the color reproduction is accurate; then we also use grayscale testing card, we find that its recognizable grayscale grade can reach 20, very impressive.

32x optical zoom for long range video surveillance

The camera's focal length is 4.4-140.8mm, supports 32x optical zoom and 16x digital zoom, total 512x zoom. In our test, the image depth will change since the change of scene, camera can quickly and accurately focus to capture fine image. The camera's view angle range is 63.68° ~ 2.24°. We find that the real test result is accordance with this claimed parameter. In minimum zoom, image image has large depth, no distortion, both near and far objects are clearly presented; in maximum zoom, the camera can see road lane, buildings which are located in several miles away.The camera's focal length is 4.4-140.8mm, supports 32x optical zoom and 16x digital zoom, total 512x zoom. Precise Pan and Tilt Rotation

This network camera supports 360 degree continuous pan rotation, -5°~185°tilt rotation, offers up to 256 presets, 6 cruise patterns (preset max. speed 250°/s). In real test, we set four presets with different position and optical zoom value, then assign them to one cruise. Letting the camera auto-cruise, we find that the PTZ camera rotates fast, image can quickly focus, also rotation is accurate. More over, this camera offers several flexible PTZ control features such as 3D positioning zoom, Auto-tracking to track low-speed moving objects (i.e human, bike etc).

Furthermore, in 60fps high frame rate video streaming, monitoring the outdoor moving vehicles (60-80fps), the motion track is clear, smooth, compared with 30fps, it eliminates motion blur, image becomes smooth; meanwhile, in 1080p resolution, image has no shaking.

In addition to the basic image capturing, network control, PTZ capabilities, this network camera also provides multiple image processing applications. Defog algorithm can improve image clarity when security cameras work in foggy, raining weather. In this test, making the camera aim at 5 kilometer away outdoor scene, after we enable the Defog function, the subject becomes easily identify, the defog function effect is obvious.

This camera also supports wide dynamic range, High-light compensation features. The WDR function can suppress the strong light portion in the image, while increase brightness of background.

Excellent low illumination performance

In low illumination test, in Auto Day/Night mode, we put the camera into dark box, since the decrease of illumination, the camera keeps adjust AGC, white balance to ensure camera output color image, it automatically switches to monochrome image when illumnation is 6Lux.

When illumination is 0.01Lux, the subject is still recognizable, even LEDs are off. This PTZ camera supports Smart IR technology; which means the IR level will automatically adjust according to different optical zoom. Smart IR can effectively avoid IR-saturation problem for long range distance IR range.
