Tear down Xiaomi MiJia 360° 1080P Pan/Tilt IP Camera

Tear down the Xiaomi Mijia 360° Smart 1080P WiFi Camera which is the second released product in Mijia portfolio, the product supports real-time video monitoring, 1080p FHD resolution, IR night vision, two-way intercom, voice control and interaction feature, meanwhile the camera can support 360° pan/tilt rotation.

On the package box, we can find the related information to install the smart App, then can easily connect the camera via smartphone.

It’s snowball like camera, its head can rotate 360° horizontally, also can tilt 85°. The camera adopts SABIC material housing, the surface has been polished to achieve the mirror effect.

Included a 5V2A AC/DC adapter and 2M length microUSB cable.

A button with logo is on the camera’s housing, press the button can start voice interaction with the camera. Furthermore, speak Mandarin “小白看过来”, the camera can automatically recognize the sound, and automatically rotate the camera to the direction of the sound.

Removing the rubber, we can find the four concealed screws.

Start to disassemble the camera.

The housing has no buckle design, after removing the screws, we can easily open the camera.

Disconnect all the cables, separate the bottom base.

The camera’s body only contains the rotating motor structure.

Horizontal motor structure includes the motor, gear, a stop switch.

Drive motor, it’s very quiet when the camera rotate.

The neck of the camera has a bearing design.

The head is very difficult to open as it uses buckle design.

Head plastic adopts multi-layer buckle design, speaker has the anti-dust net design.

Surrounding the lens there is the Infrared illuminators board.

Tilt motor structure

The front and back view of the camera module, the Mijia camera module supports 1080P Full High Definition video, 4-megapixel, leveraging the industry-leading HD video processor – Ambarella S2Lm, integrates Omnivision CMOS image sensor, can support magic zoom /4x digital zoom.

3.6mm IR Mega, the field of view is approximate 70-90 degree, belongs to wide angle lens.
