SmartSens CMOS Image Sensor SC2035 SC1035

According to the news from Unifore R&D department, the new Full HD 1080p Smart WiFi cameras will utilize Grain Media GM8136S + SmartSens SC2035 CMOS image sensor solution. We used to introduce the diversity CMOS image sensors from manufacturers like Sony, OmniVision, ON Semiconductor (formerly Aptina), SOI etc. Be honest, I 've never heard about SmartSens. In this article, we intend to introduce you the SmartSens SC2035 and SC1035 CMOS image sensors.

SmartSens is the brand name of Jiangsu SmartSens Electronic Technology Co.,Ltd. According to its company about webpage, the company is founded in Jiangsu, China, in 2011. Today, the company provides 2 megapixel (SC2035), 1.3 megapixel (SC1035), 1.0 megapixel (SC1045/SC1020) CMOS image sensors that target to drones, security cameras, vehicle cameras.  Apparently, we can't find the product description for SC2035 on SmartSens website (smartsenstech.com).

No English webpage, no datasheet, the below information is what we've found on the SmartSens website.

High low-light and Infrared light sensitivity

High S/N ratio

S/N or SNR, Signal-to-noise ratio is a measure used in science and engineering that compares the level of a desired signal to the level of background noise. By employing low noise parallel readout circuits architecture, the SmartSens CMOS image sensor can offer 70dB SNR.

High dynamic range (HDR)

High dynamic range is similar to wide dynamic range technology, the HDR technology enables camera to capture clear images in high-contrast scenes. The high-contrast scenes are usually generated by strong or reflect lighting, will make the image have dark and too bright areas can't see the objects clearly, that severely affects the video surveillance quality.

High frame rate

Higher frame rate can effectively solve the motion blur when cameras designed to capture fast-speed running objects. High frame rate security cameras are widely used in road traffic monitoring application.
