What's speed dome camera?

Speed dome cameras also called PTZ dome cameras are widely used in middle and big scale surveillance areas, it can monitor the whole area with just one speed dome camera and without any blind spot. This kind of security cameras always come with vandal-proof housing for protection itself from smash and hit. The zoom module is the crucial component for speed dome cameras.  The inside zoom module can pan rotation from 0 degree to 360 degree, and auto flip tilt rotation from 0 degree to 180 degree. Majority of these camera can setup patrol route and cruise points. 

Speed dome cameras vary from pan and tilt rotation speed, speed dome cameras can be classified with high speed dome cameras (360 ° per second), middle speed dome cameras (40°-60° per second) and low speed dome cameras (8° - 18 ° per second).

The most important features for speed dome camera is the ability to zoom in and zoom out image, automatically focus image during the operation, and nowadays, majority speed dome cameras are equipped with 10x zoom, 22x zoom, 27x zoom, 36x zoom modules. Typically big zoom module can see more far distance and capture more clear and detailed images.

What's IR speed dome camera ?

IR speed dome camera is the traditional speed dome camera attached with Infrared (IR) illuminators, we call these kind of camera as IR speed dome camera. With help of these IR illuminators, the dome camera can capture images under complete darkness environment, also the night vision distance can reach up much far away (100ft - 400ft).

Some of IR speed dome cameras are equipped with several third generation IR LED array. One single IR LED array is a powerful Infrared illuminator that can emit long range and wide angle active infrared to coverage large area, thus just with several units of IR LED array, the night vision for IR speed dome camera may reach up to 400ft.

The disadvantage of IR speed dome camera is the IR illuminators will generate heat and increase the temperatures during the camera operation.  So a good IR speed dome camera with heat ventilation design (fan and heat radiating material) both for IR illuminators and zoom camera module.  These design will make the speed dome camera with long operation and stable performance.

• 1/3 inch Sony CCD and Effio-E, Effio-S powered zoom module, features with 2D noise reduction, wide dynamic range, high light compensation, motion detection and privacy masking...etc. High quality zoom module can deliver high contrast and true color reproduction images with highest horizontal resolution of 700 tv lines (960H or WD1).

What's auto tracking speed dome camera ?
